Victorian Government rebate for smoke effect laboratory testing

The 2009 bushfires may have had a dramatic effect on your business and the Victorian Wine Industry Association (VWIA) supports a responsible approach by the State’s winemakers in undertaking laboratory analysis to ensure smoke-affected fruit is identified and potentially treated before it gets into the bottle.

To this end, the Victorian Government has initiated this project to assist with the costs associated with laboratory testing. We all want the best quality wines in our markets, and the VWIA did advocate that financially supporting the industry with a rebate for laboratory testing was a common-sense risk management strategy.

If you have incurred expenses to undertake smoke analysis testing, then I invite you to contact the VWIA and register for a rebate by phoning (03) 96422505 or emailing .

Reminder DEADLINE for registrations is April 9, 2009. You may register for the rebate even if you are continuing to sample.

The Victorian Government is providing the funding to the Victorian Wine Industry Association under the Brumby Government’s Regional Investment Initiative through Regional Development Victoria.
