Bundaleer Sparkling Shiraz wins Wine of the Year

In a huge coup for the Southern Flinders Ranges wine region, Bundaleer Wines’ Sparkling Shiraz has taken out the Wine of The Year, chosen by consumer judges, at the Hyatt Advertiser Wine of the Year Awards.

Announced on Friday night at a gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency Adelaide, the award capped a night which saw Bundaleer’s Sparkling Shiraz also take out the Best Sparkling Red category from both the Consumer Judges and the Professional Judges.

In her acceptance speech at the Hyatt event, Bundaleer’s winemaker Angela Meaney said she was “quite overwhelmed” at the honor. “We’re so small there are only a few people to thank!”

Ang says that as a small company from a little-known region, Bundaleer is delighted with the recognition this award brings. “It’s great not only for us but for the whole Southern Flinders Ranges region. The Flinders is a great place to visit and with four cellar doors now open it is a unique wine-tasting destination too.”
