The Winemakers’ Federation of Australia has announced that the groundbreaking WineSkills Workshops series has been granted FarmBis funding approval for Western Australia.
The funding will allow participants to reclaim between 50% to 65% of the cost of the workshop.
The Western Australian Workshops for 2007, under the banner ‘Business Sustainability – Volume or Value’, will be held on the following dates: • Perth Workshop: 11 & 12 December • Margaret River Regional Workshop: 13 & 14 December
Registrations have now been extended until Wednesday 5 December, to take advantage of this new subsidy.
The WineSkills Workshops are designed to deliver the latest practical information and tools to industry members, in line with the Directions to 2025 strategy. These hands-on workshops provide participants with invaluable market insights and practical information to assist them in improving their individual business performance, using demonstrations of business modelling tools supported by real market scenarios.
Presentations include, “Achieving maximum margin from wine sales to increase profitability,” and “Assessing your business to ensure its future sustainability,” among many other timely and relevant topics.
The WineSkills program was created by the WFA in conjunction with Wine Australia, and Paul Henry, General Manager Market Development, will be presenting in Western Australia on the subject of market opportunities and the Wine Australia Directions brand segmentation strategy.
Other presenters will include WFA Natural Resource Management Coordinator Amy Russell, who will provide information on important environmental sustainability issues affecting the trade, and how the Federation is helping wineries to manage them.
With a focus on how to grow long term profitability, the Wine Skills program will demonstrate why targeting value growth is a superior strategy for the future sustainability of the industry than pursuing volume growth.
Registrations are now open for Perth and Margaret River workshops until Wednesday 5 December. For further information, details of pricing and registration, visit www.wfa.org.au
